Osspore CS

self setting bone regenration material for sockets, bone defects and cervival periodontal area bone regenrtion.

Calcium sulfate graft materials can be used in following manner:[20]

  1. Filling of cysts, bone cavities, benign bone lesions, and segmental bone defects.
  2. Narrow three-walled defects.
  3. Expansion of grafts used for spinal fusion.
  4. Alveolar ridge preservation.
  5. Class II molar furcation defects.
  6. Filling of bone graft harvest sites.
  7. In a clinical and histological study, Mazor et al.[35] demonstrated that biphasic calcium sulfate preserved and augmented socket volume and resorbed in the desired time period between extraction and implant placement.

Kutkut and Andreana[36] indicated that medical-grade calcium sulfate is an excellent material for use in bone regeneration in implant dentistry. Its safety and very long history further support its use.

A study demonstrated that the treatment with a combination of beta TCP and calcium sulfate led to a significantly favorable clinical improvement in periodontal intrabony defects 2 years after the surgery.[37] Another surgical case reported,[38] medical-grade calcium sulfate when mixed with demineralized freeze-dried bone allograft was found to be a biocompatible composite graft with the ability to provide radiographic evidence of hard-tissue repair of a periodontal intrabony defect.

Calcium sulphate bone regenertion material for alveolar and cystic leasion bone growth. self setting

arious procedures have been advocated for regeneration of the periodontal apparatus, such as open flap debridement (OFD), natural or synthetic filling materials (bone grafts), and guided tissue regeneration (GTR).[1] Bone grafts are any tissue or organ used for implantation or transplantation.[2] Historically, autogenous and allogenic bone have been used with some success. Several other bone replacement grafts have been developed for use in periodontal therapy to support bone formation and defect fill.

Calcium sulfate acts as osteoconductive bone void filler that completely resorbs as the newly formed bone remodels and restores anatomic features and structural properties. Calcium sulfate acts as a resorbable osteoconductive scaffold that provides a structural framework for angiogenesis and osteogenesis while preventing soft tissue invasion by acting as a space filler. Two parallel series of mechanisms are triggered by the degradation of calcium sulfate into the deep bone defect. The first mechanism involves the release of calcium and sulfur ions in the biological environment, which results in carbonate apatite formation and calcium ion stimulation of cellular activity. The second mechanism is the precipitation of calcium phosphate, which leads to a transient local drop in pH. This causes surface demineralization of existing bone resulting in exposure of bioactive molecules and the release of growth factors such as transforming growth factors and bone morphogenetic proteins, which stimulates the growth of bone in defects filled with calcium sulfate

Intended Use

osspore BONE VOID FILLER is a fast settingresorbable ceramic bone graft substitute intended to fill gaps and voids .The material consists of a powder and a liquid component.

Osspore BONE VOID FILLER is indicated to be placed into bone voids or gaps in the bone i.e. extremities and pelvis (only during acetabular revision) not intrinsic to the stability of the bony structure.

The paste may be injected into the defect, molded by hand and ijected placed into the defect, or used to prepare beads that are placed into the defect.

When fully set in vivo, BONE VOID FILLER is drillable and can be used to fix  prosthesis.
